Over the engine bay
Draped across the slam panel it lights the whole block from above, so your head stops casting a shadow into the exact spot you are working in.
73 cm · 800 lm · USB-C
A 73 cm silicone tube that lights along its whole length and holds any shape you bend it into. Loop it over the bonnet catch, wrap it round a strut, drape it into the wheel arch — and both hands go back to the job.
One light per pack. The maker's own packing list does not include a charging cable, so plan on using a USB-C cable you already own — read “before you buy” below first.
Light that stays where you bend it
The problem with working under a bonnet at night is never the dark — it is that you have two hands and one of them is holding a torch. This is a 73 cm silicone tube that lights along its whole length and holds any shape you bend it into. Put it where the light needs to be, and get both hands back.

Bends and stays
There is no head to aim and no clamp to fit. The lit section is a soft silicone tube with a bendable core running through it — put it into a curve, a hook, a loop or a lazy S, and it holds that shape until you change it. That is what makes it useful in the places a rigid inspection lamp cannot go: behind an engine block, along the inside of a wheel arch, under a sink, down the back of a washing machine.
The shape that gets light down a 10 cm gap behind a washing machine is a curve. A torch pointed at the gap just lights the front of it.
The emitter runs the full length of the tube behind a diffusing silicone skin, so the light arrives as a broad wash. Fewer hard shadows across a cylinder head, and nothing glaring back when you look up.
It fits in a door pocket or a glovebox, which is where a breakdown light actually needs to live rather than in a toolbox in the garage.
There is no magnet in this one. It holds position by being bent around something — a bonnet catch, a strut, a pipe, a shelf bracket. If you specifically want a magnetic base, this is not the right light.
The numbers
The maker's own figures, plus four things we would rather you knew before you order than after.
long overall
56 cm of lit tube plus a 17 cm handle.
on high
The maker's figure for the high mode. See the note below about runtime.
modes
Low, high and flashing, cycled with the tail button.
to charge
From flat, over USB-C.
* The supplier's title rounds 73 cm to “27 inches”. The measured drawing says 56 cm of lit tube plus a 17 cm handle, which is 73 cm, or about 28.7 in. We would rather give you the drawing than the marketing number.

Where it earns its place
Two of these are our own clips of the light in use, not studio shots.

Draped across the slam panel it lights the whole block from above, so your head stops casting a shadow into the exact spot you are working in.

Hooked over the steering column it lights the footwell and the loom behind it — the job where a torch in your teeth stops being funny after ten minutes.

Flashing mode when traffic is going past. Coiled on a table it works as a lantern rather than a spotlight.

Bend it round the trap and the whole cupboard lights up. The shape that gets light down a narrow gap is a curve, not a beam.
Three moves

The port is in the tail cap, under the button. About 2.5 hours from flat, with the same cable as your phone.
A hook over the bonnet catch, a loop round a strut, a lazy S down the back of a machine. It holds the shape until you change it.
Low, then high, then flashing, then off. One button, no modes to set up.
Bend it in curves, not folds. Forcing a hard kink into the middle of any flexible LED strip is how the emitters inside get damaged.
Which light
All three put light on the job. They fail in different places, and this one is not the answer to everything.
| Feature | This light | A torch | A headlamp |
|---|---|---|---|

| Lights where you are looking | Where you put it | Where you aim it | |
| Shadow from your own head | Often | Always | |
| Reaches into a 10 cm gap | Yes, bent | Only straight on | |

Refunds go back to the original payment method within 5 business days of the return reaching us. Full returns policy.
