360° Articulating Borescope Inspection Camera

A 2 MP camera on the end of a 1 m semi-rigid probe, with a roller on the handle that steers the head 180° to the left and 180° to the right. Your phone clips to the handle and does the looking. Pick the probe by the opening you have to get it through.

Probe diameter

All three are the same handle, the same roller and the same 1 m probe. The diameter of the head is the only figure the maker changes between them.

Steer the head, not the whole probe

A straight probe only ever looks straight ahead.

Roll the wheel under your thumb and the head turns — 180° one way, 180° the other. That is the difference between seeing the end of a bore and seeing the wall of it, the far side of a weld, or round the bend in a trap.

The head

Eight LEDs ringed around a 2 MP camera, in a head as narrow as 3.9 mm.

The camera sits behind a stack of glass at the very tip, with the LEDs around it, so whatever you are looking at is lit from the same place you are looking from and does not throw its shadow back at you. Brightness is set on the handle rather than in the app — there is a second button beside the shutter for it.

  • Eight LEDs at the tip

Lit from the lens, which is the only place a light helps inside a bore. Brightness steps up and down from the handle.

  • In focus from 2 to 10 cm

Nearer than 2 cm or further than 10 cm and it softens. That is a short working range, and it is normal for this kind of camera.

  • IP67 on the head and probe

The maker rates the probe for standing water in a trap or a part-flooded bore. The handle is not rated, and neither is the phone clamped to it.

One number the maker gives twice, differently: its lead photograph says 1080p, its spec sheet says 1920 x 1440 for both stills and video. Both are printed below rather than whichever reads better.

One sheet covers all three sizes. The head diameter is the only line on it that changes.

Three places the maker contradicts itself

  • Screen: one line of the attribute table says 4.3 inch. Every photograph shows a phone clamp and nothing else. There is no display on this — the phone is it.
  • Case: the main photographs show a hard zip case. The kit photograph shows a plain box, a manual and two short cables. We are not counting a case in.
  • Lightning: it is on the connection list, but the kit photograph shows two cables. If your iPhone still has a Lightning port, do not order on the strength of that line.

All three come from the same listing. We cannot make them agree, so here is what each source says and what we are prepared to promise.

Where it goes

Openings you cannot get your head into

The manufacturer sells it for pipework, engines, ducting and drains. These are its photographs.

The head turning the corner inside a T-junction of steel pipe

Round the bend in a line

A straight probe reaches the junction and stops being useful. Steering the head is what lets you look up the branch instead of at it.

The probe head entering the standing water in a sink strainer

Into standing water

The head and probe are rated IP67, so a full trap or a part-flooded bore is what they are for. Keep the handle out of it.

Four jobs the maker names: pipework, under the hood, air-conditioning ducting and blocked drains

The four jobs the maker names

Pipework, under the hood, air-conditioning ducting and blocked drains. Anywhere you would otherwise be working off a mirror and a flashlight.

Using it

Plug it in, feed it in, steer it.

Nothing to pair and nothing to charge: the maker lists no battery and ships no charger, so the phone carries it.

A thumb on the roller, with the maker's diagram of the head bending 180 degrees each way
  1. Plug the probe into your phone

The handle ends in a cable. On a USB-C phone it goes straight in. Read the connection note under the specifications before you count on Lightning.

  2. Open a USB camera app

The maker does not name one anywhere — not in the listing, the spec sheet or the photographs. If that matters to you, ask us before you order rather than after.

  3. Feed it in, then steer

Push the probe with one hand and roll the wheel with your thumb. The roller is damped, so the head stays where you leave it while you are reading the screen.

Two directions, not four. The head bends in one plane; to see the other walls of a bore you turn the whole handle in your hand. A scope that bends up, down, left and right on its own is a different tool at a different price.

If the optics differ between the three, the manufacturer does not say so. We have not taken one apart to find out.

30 days from delivery. Email support@nexuratool.com with your order number and what you want to return. We reply with a return address — do not send anything back before you have it, or we cannot match the parcel to your order.

What we can take back: unused items in their original, undamaged packaging. Adhesives, sealants and lubricants cannot be returned once opened; the same goes for any item with a broken safety seal. That is a safety and hazardous-goods rule, not a preference.

Who pays: return shipping is paid by you, except when the item arrived damaged, faulty or was not what you ordered — then we cover it and refund the original shipping too.

Refunds go back to the original payment method within 5 business days of the return reaching us. Full returns policy.

QUESTIONS

Before you order

Does it have its own screen?

Will it work with my iPhone?

Which app do I need?

Is it really 360°?

Can I put it in water?

What is in the box?

Which diameter should I pick?

How long does delivery take?

180° each way · 1 m probe · 2 MP

Stop working off a mirror and a flashlight.

Pick the probe by the opening you have to get through. The 8.5 mm is the cheapest and the easiest to feed; the 3.9 mm goes where the other two will not.
