Light that stays where you bend it
The problem with working under a bonnet at night is never the dark — it is that you have two hands and one of them is holding a torch. This is a 73 cm silicone tube that lights along its whole length and holds any shape you bend it into. Loop it over the bonnet catch, wrap it round a strut, drape it into the wheel arch, and both hands go back to the job.
Bends and stays
There is no head to aim and no clamp to fit. The lit section is a soft silicone tube with a bendable core running through it — put it into a curve, a hook, a loop or a lazy S, and it holds that shape until you change it.
That is what makes it useful in the places a rigid inspection lamp cannot go: behind an engine block, along the inside of a wheel arch, under a sink, down the back of a washing machine.
A line, not a spot
A torch gives you a hot circle and a dark ring around it, and every time you move your head the shadow moves too. Here the emitter runs the full 56 cm of the tube behind a diffusing silicone skin, so the light arrives as a broad even wash.
In practice that means fewer hard shadows across a cylinder head or a fuse box, and nothing glaring straight back at you when you look up.
Low for close work, high when you need the whole bay, flashing if you are stopped on a verge and want to be seen.
A 1200 mAh cell inside and a Type-C port in the tail cap. Same cable as your phone; nothing to unscrew, nothing to buy again.
Coiled it is about the size of a mug. It fits in a door pocket or a glovebox, which is where a breakdown light actually needs to live.
Before you buy
800 lumens and 7 hours are not the same setting. The manufacturer publishes both figures, and they cannot both be true at once — a 1200 mAh cell has nowhere near the energy to hold 800 lumens for seven hours. Read the seven hours as the low mode and expect a good deal less on high. We have asked for the runtime of each mode separately and this page gets the numbers as soon as we have them in writing.
“Waterproof” comes with no IP rating. The body is sealed silicone and the maker calls it waterproof, but publishes no IPX number. Treat it as splash-and-rain safe, which is what it is built for. Do not submerge it, and do not put a wet tail cap on the charger.
The charging cable is probably not in the box. The manufacturer’s own packing list says one light and nothing else, even though the sales copy mentions an included Type-C cable. Plan on using a cable you already own — every USB-C phone charger works.
It is 73 cm, not 27 inches. The supplier’s title rounds; the measured drawing says 56 cm of lit tube plus a 17 cm handle, which is 73 cm or about 28.7 in. We would rather give you the drawing than the marketing number.

Good to know
No — there is no magnet in this one. It holds position by being bent around something: a bonnet catch, a strut, a pipe, a shelf bracket. If you specifically want a magnetic base, this is not the right light.
It coils comfortably into a circle roughly the size of a dinner plate and will hold a tighter hook at the ends. Forcing a hard kink into the middle of any flexible LED strip is how the emitters inside get damaged — bend it in curves, not folds.
The manufacturer does not say, so we are not going to promise it. Charge it, then use it — 2.5 hours from flat is not a long wait, and a charging cable trailing across an engine bay is one more thing to catch.
Rain and splashes, yes — that is the job it was built for and the body is sealed silicone. There is no published IP rating, so do not drop it in a puddle and do not plug in a wet tail cap.
No. The cell is sealed inside the handle. Like any rechargeable tool, it will hold less charge after a few hundred cycles; store it part-charged rather than flat if it is going to sit in a drawer for months.
For close work, comfortably — and because the output is spread over 56 cm rather than concentrated in a beam, it lights an area better than a torch of the same rating. It is not a floodlight for a whole garage.
