Light where you look, hands on the job
Wave at it to switch it on. Your gloves stay clean.
Under a sink, inside an engine bay, out at the campsite: the moment you need light is usually the moment your hands are full or dirty. This headlamp puts a wide COB floodlight panel and a small spotlight on one headband, and a motion sensor lets you turn the light on and off with a wave instead of hunting for the button.

Wave sensor
On and off without touching it
Flood + spot
Wide panel up close, spotlight for distance
White or warm yellow
Bright and dim on each
USB-C rechargeable
Built-in battery, cable in the box
The motion sensor
Two buttons: one for the light, one for the sensor
Turn the lamp on with the main button, then press the second button to put it into sensor mode. From then on, a wave of the hand in front of the lamp switches the light on or off. The maker gives the sensing distance as about 15 cm (6 in), so it reacts to a deliberate wave, not to everything that moves in front of you.
Prefer buttons? Leave sensor mode off and it works like any headlamp.
Two kinds of light
A wide panel for close work, a spotlight for the path
The COB panel across the front throws a broad, even wash, the kind that lights a whole cabinet or the tent around you instead of a single bright circle. It runs in white or warm yellow, each with a bright and a dim setting. Warm yellow is easier on the eyes up close.
The small spotlight on the side is separate, with its own bright and dim settings, for looking down a trail or across a yard. Hold the button for two seconds and the panel switches to a yellow-and-white mode that can also flash.
Three models
4-light, 6-light or 8-light
Same headband, buttons, sensor and spotlight on all three. The difference is how much of the front is lit, and which color modes come with it.
4-Light
Three COB strips plus a white LED strip. White and yellow, bright and dim, plus a red light that can flash.
6-Light
Five lit strips across the front. Adds blue and green lights, each steady or flashing, and a red-blue flash.
8-Light
A full COB panel across the front for the widest wash of light, with the same color modes as the 6-light.
Colored modes
Red keeps your night vision; flashing gets you seen
Red light lets you read a map or find a tent zip without wrecking your eyes' adjustment to the dark. The flashing modes are for being seen, at the side of a road or on a night run. On the 6-light and 8-light models, blue and green add more ways to signal or to spot things at night.
Battery and charging
Built-in battery, USB-C port, cable included
The battery lives inside the housing, so there are no AAAs to buy. It charges through a USB-C port on the side, and a charging cable comes in the box; any USB phone charger will power it.
For the 8-light model the maker lists an 1800 mAh 18650 cell, 2–3 hours of running time and about 6 hours to charge. Brighter settings drain it faster.
Straight answers
Four things we'd rather you knew now
It's USB-C, but it isn't fast charging. The maker's graphics say "fast charging", while their own spec sheet gives about 6 hours from empty. Charge it overnight.
Runtime is 2–3 hours, not all night. That's the maker's figure for the 8-light model. For a long night out, bring a power bank.
Rain-proof, not dive-proof. The maker calls it waterproof but publishes no IP rating. Rain and splashes are fine; don't submerge it.
The maker's photos carry their E-SMARTER logo. Some of the pictures show that logo; the specs on this page are theirs, as supplied.

Questions people ask
Before you order
Which model should I pick?
The 4-light is the simplest, with white, yellow and red. Choose the 6-light or 8-light if you want the extra blue and green modes; the 8-light lights the widest area.
Will the sensor switch it off when I don't want it to?
It only reacts to movement close to the lamp, about 15 cm by the maker's figure, and only when sensor mode is on. If you're working with your hands right in front of your face, turn sensor mode off.
Does it come with a charger?
It comes with a USB-C charging cable. Use any USB phone charger, laptop port or power bank.
How long does it last on a charge?
The maker gives 2–3 hours for the 8-light model. Dim and yellow settings last longer than full bright white.
Can I use it in the rain?
Yes, rain and splashes are fine. There's no published IP rating, so don't submerge it or charge it while wet.
