One handle, five radii
Strip the old bead, lay the new one, wipe the tile. Same tool.
Re-sealing a bath is three jobs, and most people do them with three improvised objects: a craft knife, a fingertip, and a rag. This is a 19 cm handle that does all three — a blade on the nose to lift the cured silicone out of the joint, five exchangeable pads to form the new bead at the radius it actually needs, and a flat scraper to take the smear off the tile before it cures.
19 cm handle
Long enough to pull a full joint in one go
Five radius pads
3R, 6R, 10R, 13R and 17R — swapped by hand
Remover blade on the nose
Lifts the old bead without a craft knife
Plastic or stainless head
Steel bites cured silicone; plastic spares soft surfaces
What it actually does
Four jobs, one handle
Shovel. The pointed head goes under a cured bead and lifts it out in strips. Clean. The flat blade takes the residue and the smear off the tile face afterwards. Form. A pad clips on the tail and pulls the fresh bead into an even concave profile. Push or pull. Both directions work, which matters in a corner where you cannot reverse your wrist.
That sequence is the whole job — and it is why the pads sit on the opposite end from the blade. You never put the tool down to swap tasks, and you never carry a wet blade across a clean wall.
The part nobody tells you
The radius has to match the gap
Most caulking tools give you one corner and leave you to force every joint into it. This one gives you five, marked 3R to 17R — the radius in millimetres of the curve each pad cuts. Pick the one closest to the gap you are sealing.
Go too small and the pad rides on top of the bead instead of forming it, leaving a raised lip that collects grime. Go too large and you scoop sealant out of the joint, so the bead ends up thin at the edges — the places where it has to bond. A bath-to-tile joint is usually 6 to 10 mm; a worktop-to-splashback line is often 3 to 6; an old, opened-up perimeter can want 13 or 17.
The pads push on and pull off by hand, so you can try one, wipe it, and change your mind halfway down a wall without re-doing what you have already tooled.
Four options
How many pieces, and what the nose is made of
Every option includes the handle and all five radius pads. The choice is whether you also want the extra scraper set, and whether the working head is moulded plastic or stainless steel.
5-in-1 — handle and five pads
The tool and the full set of radii. Right if you are finishing new joints and the old sealant is already out, or there was never any to remove.
9-in-1 — adds the scraper set
Everything above plus three wedge scrapers and a long flat blade, for stripping a perimeter, working a corner the handle cannot reach, and clearing tile faces.
Plastic head — lighter, and it will not score an acrylic bath, a painted frame or a coated worktop. The safe default indoors.
Stainless steel head — cuts hardened silicone and old paint flecks that plastic slides over. Faster on a neglected joint, and worth the care it needs near soft surfaces.
Straight answers
Three things we would rather you knew now
No sealant is included. This shapes and removes a bead; it does not supply one. You still bring your own silicone and a gun.
Tool the bead while it is wet. The window is a few minutes. Once a skin forms, dragging a pad through it tears the surface instead of smoothing it, and no tool recovers that — you cut it out and start the joint again.
If you only ever finish, you may not need this much tool. Our Caulk Finishing Tool is a single polyurethane blade for smoothing a fresh bead, at a lower price. This kit earns its keep when there is old sealant to strip first, or when your joints are not all the same width.

Questions people ask
Before you order
What is the difference between 5-in-1 and 9-in-1?
Both give you the handle and all five radius pads. The 9-in-1 adds three wedge scrapers and a long flat blade — loose pieces for stripping a run of old sealant, getting into a corner and clearing tile faces. If there is old silicone to remove, take the 9-in-1.
Plastic head or stainless steel?
Steel cuts cured silicone and paint that plastic slides over, so it is faster on an old joint. Plastic cannot score an acrylic bath, a coated worktop or a painted frame. If most of your work is soft surfaces, take plastic; if you are stripping hardened beads off tile, take steel.
Which radius pad should I use?
Match it to the gap. Bath-to-tile joints are commonly 6 to 10 mm, worktop-to-splashback lines 3 to 6, and an opened-up old perimeter can take 13 or 17. If you are unsure, start one size down and step up — a bead that is slightly under-formed can be re-tooled, an over-scooped one has to be re-laid.
Does it remove old silicone?
Yes — that is what the nose blade is for. Run it along the joint at a low angle and the cured bead lifts in strips. Stubborn residue comes off with the flat scraper afterwards; on tile a steel head does it noticeably faster.
Does it come with sealant?
No. You supply the silicone and the gun. This is the tooling half of the job.
Will it scratch an acrylic bath?
The silicone pads will not. The plastic head is safe with normal pressure. The steel head can mark soft acrylic if you lever against it — keep the blade inside the joint and pull along it rather than scraping across the surface.
How do I clean it?
Wipe it on a rag while the sealant is still wet — that is the whole job. If silicone cures on a pad, let it harden and peel it off; it does not bond well to the silicone pad, which is the point of the material. The pads are replaceable when a corner finally wears.
Is this the same as your Caulk Finishing Tool?
No. That one is a single polyurethane blade that smooths a fresh bead, and it is cheaper. This is a handle with a removal blade, a cleaning scraper and five interchangeable radii. Buy that one to finish; buy this one to strip, finish and clean across joints of different widths.
